If you do not let biNu connect to the internet, the app will not start.
biNu sends live information to your phone from around the world, so it must connect to your network (using data connection / GPRS). We have designed it to download as little data as possible - much less than any similar apps and 10 times less than standard mobile browsers. You may have seen this message:

This does not mean that biNu is bad or dangerous. The message is shown because this version is unsigned which makes the app easier to install. You can download a signed/trusted version of biNu from here, but you may find this version harder to install on your phone.
To experience the great features of biNu, please restart the app and click 'Yes' so that biNu can connect to the network.

Connection Problems?

biNu uses a different connection from your mobile browser. This means that your browser may connect OK but biNu doesn't.
You may need to contact your mobile service provider / operator / carrier to find out how to connect Java apps. Your carrier or phone manufacturer may be able to push all the required settings to your phone. This is the easiest and usually the best way to configure your phone. They should also always have the most up to data settings. Check the support section of your carrier's web site, looking for "send settings to your phone" or something similar. The carrier may offer a choice of several different types of settings like WAP, Internet or GPRS Data. For applications you generally want Internet or GPRS Data if they are available and WAP as a last resort. When in doubt have all the settings sent.

What are the correct Access Point Name (APN) Internet settings for my phone?

Different phone manufacturers call these profiles by different names. Common ones are:

  • Nokia: Access Points
  • Samsung: Browser Profiles
  • Motorola: Data Sessions
  • LG and Sony Ericsson: Internet Profiles

An APN is the name (web address) of an access point for GPRS/EDGE/UMTS data connections. Mobile wireless carriers usually provide the APN to their users.

For biNu to connect to the Internet, your phone needs proper settings. In general, there are two different settings:

  • Internet

biNu normally uses the Internet setting. Any settings including the letters MMS will not work. Make sure that you choose the correct Internet settings. The correct Internet settings will usually include your mobile carrier's name and then GPRS, WAP or Internet.

How do I manually enter APN Internet settings on my phone?

Please consult your mobile phone manual or your phone manufacturer's website.

I have the right settings, but biNu still doesnt work

There are devices that require a special configuration in addition to the right settings. Some Nokia phones require you to activate the settings as default in all applications. In addition, some Sony Ericsson phones require you to set the Settings for Java. Please contact your service provider if you continue to have problems.

How do I enter APN Internet settings on my Nokia Series 40 phone?

Starting from the point where you have already downloaded and installed biNu, but you are unable to load pages:

  • Go into Settings.
  • Go into Configuration.
  • Go into Personal Configuration Settings.
  • Now, press Add New (visible if you dont have a previous Personal Setting created) or press the Options button. When you have pressed the Options button, choose Add new.
  • When you have pressed Add New, you will get a new menu, which will give several options to choose from.
  • Now, scroll down and choose the Access Point and press Select. (Please note that this option is not available on the Nokia 3220 model and maybe on some more models, you can instead use the Services option instead of the Access Point option on the Nokia 3220.) Do not choose the Web option, since this will not work with biNu.
  • Now go into Access Point Settings.
  • Go into Bearer Settings.
  • Go into Packet Data Access Point.
  • Now, enter you APN address corresponding to your provider. Then press OK.
  • Go back to the Personal Configurations Settings menu, where you now should be able to see an Access Point selected.
  • Now press the Options button, and then choose to activate this Access Point.
  • Now you should be able to start biNu.
  • If you are still having problems with your Nokia S40 2.0 model of phone, please make sure that you have entered all the required information into the APN setting concerning proxy, user name, password, port etc.
